Wigan's Valencia can pick United or Real
Soccer Betting Lines
06/25/2009 - Wigan, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan insists in-demand winger Luis Antonio Valencia will ultimately decide himself which club to join.
The Latics have accepted bids in the region of $25 million from Manchester United and Real Madrid for the Ecuador international midfielder and Valencia himself will now have the final say over where his future lies.
"We are just waiting for him to come back from holiday," confirmed Whelan. "We have had offers that are acceptable to Wigan Athletic - around [$25] million - but what we will finish up with I don't know.
"It's no use me saying he is going to Manchester United because he is the boss and we'll be listening to what he says.
"We can't tell him where he wants to go. If he wants to go, we've always promised him he can go. But if he wants to stay then he will stay.
"I think he is an outstanding player and he would fit in at either Manchester United or Real Madrid.
"I don't think there is any doubt he will end up at one of those clubs, it's just a case of which one he wants to end up at. It's not for us to decide."
